In accordance with Sections 606 of the Municipal Government Act, RSA 2000, c. M-26, as amended, the Council of Parkland County has scheduled a Public Hearing to consider proposed Bylaw 2026-26, being a proposed closure of road allowance for the purpose of lease.

All sportsfields at Meridian Sports Park and Coal Diamond Sports Park are open.

In accordance accordance with Sections 606 of the Municipal Government Act, RSA 2000, c. M-26, as amended, the Council of Parkland County has scheduled a Public Hearing to consider proposed Bylaw 2026-25, being an amendment to Land Use Bylaw 2025-12.

Due to the wet conditions of the fields, all sportsfields at Meridian Sports Park and Coal Diamond Sports Park are closed today.

Parkland County has been recognized for excellence in financial transparency, receiving the Canadian Award for Financial Reporting (CAnFR) at the June 23 Council Meeting for its 2024 Annual Financial Report. At the same meeting, Council approved the 2025 Annual Financial Report as presented.

Recycling waste materials is crucial for diverting plastic and hazardous substances away from landfills. With the recent rainfall, the sewer systems in the Acheson Industrial and Big Lake Areas are experiencing higher-than-normal flows. We're asking residents and businesses to be mindful of water usage and, where possible, reduce non-essential water use over the next few days.
