Parkland County recently underwent an upgrade to our accounting and billing system. As a result of the transition to our new system, Utility invoices that are typically mailed in the first week of May have been delayed until late next week. As a result of the delayed mailing, no late payment penalties will be charged for this billing cycle. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

Are you planning to subdivide or develop your land in the future? It’s important to understand that wetlands are protected under the Alberta Wetland Policy and the broader Water Act. Parkland County’s Municipal Development Plan, Land Use Bylaw, and other policies also work to protect these features and the vital functions they provide on the landscape.
Parkland County Fire Services has contained the wildfire near Beau Rand Estates, and there is no further danger to the public. Crews will continue to monitor the area and extinguish hot spots as needed.
There will be overnight closures at the Hwy 16 and Hwy 43 interchange to support the ongoing bridge replacement project. The closures are scheduled to occur from May 6 to May 8 between the hours of 9:00 pm and 6:00 am.

The West Inter Lake District (WILD) Water Commission has identified a new water line break on the supply line west of Highway 43, which serves Wabamun and Entwistle.
As a result, Water Usage Restriction – Condition A is now in effect for both communities. Condition A includes a temporary ban on municipal water‑use operations.
There is no impact to residents at this time, and drinking water remains safe and available.
The City of Edmonton’s Mosquito Management Program will begin April 20, 2026, and run until September 30, 2026.
This program helps control mosquitoes in Edmonton and surrounding areas (including parts of Parkland County), improving quality of life to help enjoy outdoor activities in Edmonton’s brief summer, and reduce the quantities of pesticides needed to repel or control adult mosquitoes in Edmonton.
