Parkland County recently upgraded our account and billing system. As a result of the ongoing transition to the new system, June utility bills have been delayed and will now be mailed out later this week. The City of Edmonton’s Mosquito Management Program will begin April 20, 2026, and run until September 30, 2026.
This program helps control mosquitoes in Edmonton and surrounding areas (including parts of Parkland County), improving quality of life to help enjoy outdoor activities in Edmonton’s brief summer, and reduce the quantities of pesticides needed to repel or control adult mosquitoes in Edmonton.
Health Canada has approved emergency use of strychnine in approved areas of Alberta and Saskatchewan, including Parkland County. This approval is to help manage serious crop damage caused by Richardson’s ground squirrels.
