We are aware of a banner displayed on private property outside of Parkland County, along Highway 779, containing racist and disparaging language directed toward Indigenous peoples. Many people have found the message hurtful, discriminatory, and contrary to the spirit of respect that we expect in our community. Parkland County strongly condemns racism and discrimination in all forms.

Due to flooding, the public washrooms at Wabamun Waterfront Park are closed until further notice.

Please note that temporary porta potties have been placed on-site and are available for use while the washroom facilities are closed.

Parkland County welcomed the Honourable Andrew Boitchenko, MLA for Drayton Valley-Devon, and Shane Getson, MLA for Lac Ste. Anne-Parkland for the announcement of up to $562,500 in provincial funding for two rural road infrastructure projects.

This year’s historic rainfall has left standing water across many parts of Parkland County. We understand how stressful it can be to see water remaining near homes, fields, roads and driveways after an extended period of wet weather and saturated ground conditions.
