Council, by resolution, has scheduled a Regular Council Meeting on Monday February 2, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. in accordance with Section 193 of the Municipal Government Act at Parkland County Centre, Council Chambers.
Parkland County is advising residents and businesses of a significant sewer rate adjustment for 2026, driven primarily by ARROW Utilities’ decision to increase the wholesale wastewater treatment rate it charges municipalities by 34%—from $2.05 per cubic metre in 2025 to $2.75 in 2026. This latest rate hike follows consecutive increases by ARROW since 2023, representing an 83% cumulative rise over four years.
Let’s crush the cold and bring warmth and support to those in need of food in the Tri-Region! As part of the Coldest Night of the Year campaign, Councillor Ben Jespersen will be leading the Parkland County team for a walk to support the Parkland Food Bank. On February 28, from 5 to 9 p.m., the Parkland County Cold Crushers team will come together for this important cause to help ensure everyone in the Tri-Region gets a meal.
The Parkland County Seniors Shuttle Service is back and running, helping seniors aged 65+ and residents with disabilities travel safely and affordably. The shuttle operates on Tuesdays only, travelling west to east from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The service is open to everyone, with priority given to seniors and people with disabilities.
Collisions with wildlife can result in serious injury and significant damage to property. When driving on rural highways, it is critical to maintain heightened awareness of potential wildlife nearby.
The area known as the Building Product Site (BPS) in Wabamun, located South of 51 Avenue and West of Prospect Drive, was used for industrial activities many years ago, before the County acquired the land. Testing has identified several small areas within the site where the soil is contaminated. The County will remove the identified contaminated soils and dispose offsite.
