One of Parkland County’s best-kept secrets is its hundreds of small lakes and wetlands scattered across the western and northern areas. Some of them, like Spring, Jackfish and Hubbles Lake, have been heavily developed while others, many unnamed, remain largely pristine aside from a few cottages or year-round homes.

On June 21, the Tri-Region celebrated National Indigenous Peoples Day. Together, we were able to celebrate the achievements and vibrant culture and history of the First Nation peoples, Inuit and Métis in Canada.

The Tri-Municipal Region is once again raising awareness of elder abuse this June in honour of World Elder Abuse Awareness Day. Residents are encouraged to join the Uproot Abuse campaign to increase awareness of elder abuse and build a strong network to better support seniors in the region.
