  • Parkland County introduces Home Energy Efficiency Kits

    Parkland County, in partnership with Parkland County Libraries, is offering residents a new hands-on way to better understand how their homes use energy and identify opportunities to reduce utility costs and improve comfort. Home Energy Efficiency Kits are now available for loan and include practical tools to test different aspects of your home’s performance, such as heat loss, appliance usage, and indoor air quality.

  • Draft Beef Cattle Code of Practice Open for Public Comment

    The National Farm Animal Care Council (NFACC) and the Canadian Cattle Association have announced the launch of a public comment period for the draft Code of Practice for the Care and Handling of Beef Cattle.

  • Have your say on updates to Parkland County planning Documents

    Parkland County is modernizing its approach to Area Structure Plans (ASP) to help make planning documents more consistent, flexible, and user-friendly for residents, landowners, businesses and applicants.Two public engagement opportunities are coming up in June, and we invite residents to stop by, learn more, and share feedback with the project team. 

  • Tri-Municipal Region 2025 Alberta Housing and Service Needs Estimation Report Released

    In October 2025, the Tri-Municipal Region participated in a large-scale provincial housing and service needs estimation. The data highlighted in the report can be used to help inform decision-making across organizations, funders, and government by providing reliable and up-to-date information on housing insecurity, housing stock, and service needs. The community report was released on May 20, 2026 by local municipal partners.

  • Parkland County Invites Public Feedback on 2026–2029 Strategic Plan - Deadline Extended

    Every four years, following a municipal election, Council develops a new Strategic Plan. This plan sets the direction and priorities for Parkland County and acts as the roadmap that guides both Council and Administration. Council would like to hear from you and receive your feedback on the Strategic Plan. Public input will be collected until June 18, 2026.

  • Fire Hazard Level Updated to Fire Restriction

    Please be advised that Parkland County's Fire Hazard Level has been updated to Fire Restriction, effective May 17 at 3 p.m.

    • Fire hazard conditions are at a level where fires can start and grow quickly. No open burning fires or major burn operations are allowed.
    • Safe, recreational fires in approved fire pits, burn barrels/incinerators with screens, as well as gas/propane stoves, barbeques and fire bowls are allowed.
    • Major burn, outdoor fire, and consumer fireworks permits are cancelled at this time, and no new permits will be issued.
