Temporary road closure on Township Road 524A

Parkland County will temporarily close a section of Township Road 524A east of Range Road 32 beginning Thursday, Oct. 8 at 3 p.m. to complete repairs to overland drainage infrastructure.

The timing has also been coordinated with the Parkland School Division schedule to help minimize disruptions to school bus service.

Traffic impacts
•    Thursday, Oct. 8 at 3 p.m.: Township Road 524A will close to all traffic from Range Road 32 to approximately 500 metres east.

•    Friday, Oct. 9 at 7 p.m.: The road will reopen to single-lane traffic.

•    Tuesday, Oct. 13 at 3 p.m.: Full two-way traffic is expected to resume.

While the full closure is relatively short, the required detour may add approximately 25 km to some trips. Drivers are encouraged to allow extra travel time and follow the detour shown on the accompanying map.
These repairs are necessary to help maintain the functionality and reliability of Parkland County’s overland drainage infrastructure.

Advance notification signs have been posted in the area, and Parkland School Division has also been notified.
