In accordance accordance with Sections 606 of the Municipal Government Act, RSA 2000, c. M-26, as amended, the Council of Parkland County has scheduled a Public Hearing to consider proposed Bylaw 2026-25, being an amendment to Land Use Bylaw 2025-12.

Parkland County has been recognized for excellence in financial transparency, receiving the Canadian Award for Financial Reporting (CAnFR) at the June 23 Council Meeting for its 2024 Annual Financial Report. At the same meeting, Council approved the 2025 Annual Financial Report as presented.

With the recent rainfall, the sewer systems in the Acheson Industrial and Big Lake Areas are experiencing higher-than-normal flows. We're asking residents and businesses to be mindful of water usage and, where possible, reduce non-essential water use over the next few days.

Parkland County is aware of an ARROW wastewater discharge in the Rolling Meadows area near the intersection Township Road 532A and Range Road 271.

This is an Alberta Emergency Alert. Parkland County has cancelled a flood alert for the Hamlet of Wabamun.

Located near the University of Alberta Botanic Gardens, Bunchberry Meadows Conservation Area spans 260 hectares of old-growth forest, open meadow, and wetland habitat. The area features about 8.6 km of marked, easy trails, with signage showing distances and approximate walking times. Along the way, visitors can read panels that share insights into the area’s local plants and wildlife.

Due to elevated levels of fecal indicator bacteria, Alberta Health Services (AHS) is advising the public not to swim or wade at the Camp Yowochas beach area on Wabamun Lake, effective immediately.

In collaboration with the Edmonton Humane Society (EHS), Parkland County is currently participating in the Trap-Neuter-Return Program (TNR) to manage local populations of unowned cats. The TNR initiative aims to reduce the number of free-roaming cats in a humane and effective way.
