Parkland County Council has approved the operating and capital budget for 2025, keeping tax increases low and predictable while continuing to maintain service levels and fund important investments. Council approved a municipal tax increase of 2. 5%.
As you travel east and west along Highway 16A in Parkland County, you’ll notice some changes to traffic flow in the Acheson area. Funded through Prairies Economic Development Canada, the County has been working on improvements to the intersections at Spruce Valley Road and at Bevington/ Pinchbeck Road.
In response to ongoing demand for wireless internet services, the County is subsidizing equipment and installation fees to remove barriers to quality service access for qualified residents. Effective today (December 2, 2024), residents may now submit an application to receive a rebate of up to $1,000 for the hardware and installation costs for a new wireless internet connection.

Parkland County is amending its Bylaws and documents on tree clearing on County lands and water body access for semi-waterfront properties. Currently, the County’s Jackfish Lake Area Structure Plan and West Point Estates (North) Outline Plan contain differing policies on the maximum allowable width of a pathway through County Lands for semi-waterfront property owners.
In 2024, three areas were selected for focus with our weed inspection and control programs. These areas were adjacent to the previous focus areas selected in 2023.
