Garbage and Recycling

Recycling Changes Coming October 1, 2026

Alberta's enhanced recycling program takes effect October 1, 2026. More packaging and paper materials will be accepted for recycling, and transfer station recycling depots will move to single-stream collection.

Continue following current recycling rules until September 30, 2026.

Parkland County provides waste disposal, recycling and composting services to help residents manage household waste responsibly.

Most residents can dispose of household waste at a County transfer station free of charge with a valid Solid Waste Card and government-issued identification. Limited curbside garbage and recycling collection is available in select communities.
