Entwistle Fibre Infrastructure
Important notice about Internet, TV, and phone services in Entwistle
Updated: June 3, 2026
Parkland County wants to inform Entwistle residents and businesses about an upcoming change to local telecommunications services.
What’s happening
ONET, the current provider of Internet, TV, and phone services in Entwistle, was acquired by TELUS in 2024. TELUS has advised the County that ONET is planning to exit their role as telecommunications service provider in Entwistle. Television services will cease on July 31, 2026 and Internet and Telephone services will cease on October 31, 2026. As a result, a new service provider for Entwistle must be identified.
What the County is doing
The County is actively managing this transition to minimize disruption and ensure Entwistle continues to have reliable telecommunications services.
A competitive process is underway to bring in an experienced private provider to own and operate the Entwistle fibre network and deliver Internet, TV, and phone services over the long term.
What you can expect
- No immediate service changes
- Ongoing updates from the County
- June 4, 2026: Formal service notices from ONET (TELUS)
- Summer 2026: Information from the new provider about service options
Residents will have the option to subscribe to the new provider and service offerings, or to explore other options.
Staying informed
Updates will be posted on the project page. Please be sure to subscribe to this page to be notified of further updates.
