Past Wildfires

 

Parkland County is no stranger to wildfires having endured major burns such as:

  • 2026 - Beau Rand Estates 
  • 2023 - Range Road 70
  • 2021 - Range Road 63
  • 2016 - Duffield & Tomahawk

Using learnings from these previous incidents and with input from industry professionals, Parkland County has launched a Wildfire Mitigation Strategy which is a roadmap to help reduce wildfire risk across the County. It identifies where wildfire could have the greatest impact, outlines practical steps to reduce risk, and guides how the County will work with residents and other partners to strengthen wildfire preparedness over time.
