Transfer Stations & Waste Disposal

Recycling changes begin October 1, 2026

Transfer station recycling depots will move to single-stream collection and additional materials will be accepted.

Continue following current depot sorting requirements until September 30, 2026.

Parkland County residents can dispose of household waste at County transfer stations free of charge by presenting a valid Solid Waste Card and government-issued photo ID. Transfer stations also accept a variety of recyclable materials and other waste streams, with fees applying to certain items.

Not sure where an item belongs? Visit What Goes Where? to find the proper disposal method.

Before You Visit

To dispose of household waste free of charge, you must present:

  • A valid Solid Waste Card
  • Government-issued photo ID

Please review the current Solid Waste Fees and Charges Schedule for information on disposal fees that may apply to certain materials.

Please note:

  • "No-charge disposal" applies to residents transporting and disposing of their own household waste.
  • Charges apply to commercial businesses and non-residents.
  • Disposal fees will apply if a resident does not present a valid Solid Waste Card.

Solid Waste Cards

A Solid Waste Card allows Parkland County residents to dispose of household waste at County transfer stations free of charge when they present the card along with valid government-issued photo identification.
