The Agenda Review Committee determines which items are placed on the Consent Agenda, using criteria set out in the Meeting Procedures Bylaw.
Consent Agenda items typically:
- Are routine or administrative in nature
- Follow existing policy and approved budgets
- Do not require debate or further clarification
The following cannot be included on a Consent Agenda:
- Public Hearings
- Quasi‑judicial or adjudicative matters
- Items requiring statutory notice
- Matters that, in the opinion of the Agenda Review Committee or Council, require debate
All Consent Agenda items are clearly identified in the published agenda and supported by publicly available reports.
