Water Line Break Triggers Water Usage Restriction in Wabamun and Entwistle

UPDATE Tuesday, April 28 at 2:00 p.m.:

Water service is now expected to be restored by the end of day tomorrow.

Based on current water reservoir levels in Wabamun and Entwistle, Water Usage Restriction – Condition B is now in effect for both communities.

This update now affects non-essential resident water use.

Condition B water restrictions include:

  • A ban on municipal water-use operations
  • A ban on irrigation and watering of lawns
  • A ban on other non-essential water use (non-essential use is defined as all water not used for human consumption)
  • Truck Fill is out of service (Barrel Fill remains open)

There is no impact to drinking water quality; water remains safe to consume and available for essential daily needs.

County crews continue to closely monitor water levels throughout the system. Repair work is being led by the West Inter Lake District (WILD) Water Commission, and additional updates will be shared as information becomes available.
