Parkland County receives Canadian Award for Financial Reporting (CAnFR) and Approves 2025 Annual Report

Parkland County has been recognized for excellence in financial transparency, receiving the Canadian Award for Financial Reporting (CAnFR) at the June 23 Council Meeting for its 2024 Annual Financial Report. Presented by the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA), the award recognizes reports that go beyond the minimum requirements of generally accepted accounting principles and clearly communicates a municipality’s financial position.

The CAnFR program promotes high-quality financial reporting that enhances public understanding and meets the needs of report users. Parkland County’s 2024 report met these standards, demonstrating a strong commitment to accountability.

Council Approves 2025 Annual Financial Report

At the same meeting, Council approved the 2025 Annual Financial Report as presented. While the award applies to the 2024 report, the 2025 report will also be submitted to the GFOA for consideration, as the program recognizes reports on an annual basis.

The 2025 Annual Financial Report provides a comprehensive overview of the County’s financial position and performance. It includes consolidated financial statements, an independent auditors’ report, key statistics, updates on strategic plan pillars and goals, and a 2025 year-in-review summary. Financial statements are prepared in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles for municipal governments, as established by the Public Sector Accounting Board.

Residents are encouraged to view the 2025 Annual Financial Report and previous reports on the County’s Financial Reports webpage.
