  • 2024 Annual Producer Dinner

    Parkland County's Agricultural Services Board is pleased to host the 2024 Annual Producer Dinner on November 14th at Blueberry Hall. Each year, Parkland County hosts this dinner to honour local producers and the essential contributions they make to our community and the farming industry.

  • Renewable energy feedback encouraged

    On behalf of our Agricultural Services Board, please note the following information being shared from the Government of Alberta regarding renewable energy reclamation security engagement. Input is being requested from the renewable energy industry, including landowners, to assist in the development of a government-led program to collect reclamation security for wind and solar renewable energy projects on private land.

  • Why should we control our weeds?

    Invasive weeds are usually non-native species that were introduced from other ecosystems that adapt quickly and spread aggressively. The province of Alberta has established a list of noxious and prohibited noxious weeds that threaten the natural ecosystem and agricultural land of Alberta.

  • National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

    Today marks the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, an opportunity to reflect on the impact of residential schools and the ongoing issues that affect the Indigenous Peoples who live in Canada. Parkland County Centre and the Entwistle Community Recreation Centre are both presenting Dennis Saddleman's poem and video, "Monster - A Residential School Experience" for viewing.

  • Wabamun Waterfront Park Construction

    Please note that construction will be starting on Waterfront Park in Wabamun on Monday, Sept 30, 2024, and the park will be closed to public. .

  • Meet Youth Activist and Author, Josie Camilleri

    At age 17, Josie Camilleri is a new and emerging local author, alongside eight other passionate high school students on the North Saskatchewan Watershed Alliance’s Youth Water Council whose deep desire to make a difference led to publishing a comic book entitled, “River Time Vortex Extravaganza!”. The project was selected after months of discovery, deliberation and project planning to work towards the improvement of environmental health in the North Saskatchewan River watershed.

  • Boat Launch Closures due to Construction

    Please note that construction begins at Wabamun's Waterfront Park on Monday, September 30, 2024 and the park will be closed to the public. During the closure, the parking lot, pier and boat launch (when it is completed) will remain accessible.

    Joan Marie Galat has a unique way of looking up at the stars. She is well known as the “star-lady” because of her appeal as an author of children’s science books.

  • Responsible Pet Ownership and Safety

    Parkland County’s Responsible Pet Ownership Bylaw is designed to keep all members of our community — including our furry friends — safe and sound. Under the bylaw, every dog owner must purchase a licence, which includes a dog tag with a number.

    The Jasper fire is now under control and the time has come for residents to pick up the pieces and start over. Brian Cornforth is sifting through the ashes in Jasper, hoping to find his mother’s wedding rings in the wreckage of her house.
