April 29, 2024 - Today marks one year since the Range Road 70 wildfire began in Parkland County. We remain thankful to all the first responders who worked tirelessly throughout this emergency to protect our community, and all of our residents who were patient and resilient during what was a very stressful and challenging time.

Join our Fire Services team on Saturday, May 4, at the Entwistle Community Hall for an orientation session on how to manage wildfire with heavy equipment on your land. In this session, Fire Services will outline practical information on incident management, fire weather/behaviour and equipment operation in a wildfire event.

. Last Saturday, we celebrated the grand re-opening of the Gainford Hotel's Iron Lady Saloon.

Parkland County is excited to be one of 12 communities across Canada receiving the Wawanesa Community Wildfire Prevention Grants in 2024. These grants will fund a local project to help increase our resilience to wildfires through risk reduction and prevention activities.

April 4, 2023 - Last night we celebrated our 2023 Fire Services Recruit Graduation. As these recruits officially step into the role of Parkland County Firefighters, we thank them for the incredible amount of dedication and perseverance they have shown throughout their training.

Today, Council presented STARS with a cheque for $25,000. We are proud to embrace a partnership with STARS, and more importantly, join Alberta’s municipalities in the united effort that ensures access to a robust health and safety network for all Albertans.

The Government of Alberta has declared an early start to the 2024 wildfire season, which typically begins March 1, due to warmer than normal temperatures and below average precipitation. We encourage residents to keep up to date with fire hazard levels, FireSmart your property and stay prepared.
