Peace Officers
Parkland County Peace Officers have a valuable role, ensuring the safety and enjoyment of County roads, communities, and infrastructure through the enforcement of:
- Provincial statues (e.g., Traffic Safety Act, Gaming and Liquor Act, etc.)
- Municipal bylaws (e.g., Community Standards, Off Highway Vehicles)
Our Peace Officers investigate complaints, such as:
- Unsightly Properties
- Noise
- Graffiti
- Littering
- Nuisance Properties
- Maintenance of Buildings, Structures, and Fences
- Composting
Many offences are enforced by simply educating property owners of the infraction and giving them an opportunity to fix the issue. Every situation is evaluated on a case-by-case basis and at the Officer's discretion.
Additional services include:
- Animal Services
- Monitoring traffic safety in school zones
- Patrolling residential areas, industrial areas and municipal parks to prevent break and enters, vandalism, and property damage
- Proactive partnerships within the community through Crime Watch/Prevention groups and school programs
- Targeting unsafe commercial vehicles including overweight and over-dimensional vehicles to protect local infrastructure
