2022-2025 Strategic Plan

2022 – 2025 Strategic Plan

2022 – 2025 Strategic Plan in Review

Parkland County is committed to the well-being and growth of the community. To ensure that the County’s plans align with this commitment, Administration follows a robust strategic planning hierarchy.

At the top of the hierarchy is the Municipal Development Plan (MDP) which is the long-term comprehensive plan for how Parkland County will grow and develop into the future.

The Strategic Plan is the next level in the hierarchy. Through this plan, Council sets the County’s priorities for their four-year term, guiding Administration’s work.

Then, the Corporate Plan is used by Administration to guide the County’s activities to advance the goals and priorities described in the Strategic Plan.

Lastly, department business plans define the work that will support and inform program and service delivery, and performance reporting monitors progress to ensure successful achievement of the County's goals.

Council sets the County’s strategic priorities for their four-year term through the Strategic Plan.

Developed by the County's elected officials and senior Administration, the 2022-2025 Strategic Plan sets the County's vision for the future and is the roadmap for Council during their term of office. This plan is reviewed on annual basis and may be updated as required.

The Strategic Plan includes four pillars:

  • Complete Communities
  • Strategic Economic Diversification
  • Respected Environment and Agriculture
  • Responsible Leadership

Within each of the pillars are goals that support advancing Council’s vision for the County. Both the pillars and goals are supported by strategies and tactics developed by Administration.
