Notice for Acheson and Big Lake Area
Significant rainfall across the region is causing the ARROW wastewater system to exceed capacity due to increased flows and water infiltration.
ARROW Utilities is responding to a pipe failure near Twp 532A and Twp Rd 271. ARROW crews have implemented emergency measures, including 24-hour pumping and temporary bypass lines, to reduce risk to property and the environment.
Parkland County is working with ARROW and neighbouring municipalities to ease pressure on the system. Residents and businesses in the Acheson and Big Lake areas are asked to limit water use to essential needs only.
Dust is a common challenge on gravel roads, especially during dry conditions and heavy traffic.
Parkland County’s Dust Control Program (guided by the Dust Control Policy PW11) helps reduce dust near homes, improve air quality, and overall road performance. By managing dust, we also help protect the road surface and reduce long-term maintenance costs. We use a safe, industry-approved calcium chloride solution to keep gravel roads stable and reduce airborne dust.
Explore the options below to see what applies to your property and how to participate.

Please note: treated gravel roads may be slippery, especially when wet. Drive with care and reduce speed.
If your residence is located on a Range Road or Township Road within 150 metres of a gravel road, you are eligible for:
