Wireless Internet Rebate Program Applications Open
In response to ongoing demand for wireless internet services, the County is subsidizing equipment and installation fees to remove barriers to quality service access for qualified residents. Effective today (December 2, 2024), residents may now submit an application to receive a rebate of up to $1,000 for the hardware and installation costs for a new wireless internet connection.
Funding is currently available for approximately 100 applicants and the program will conclude on or before Feb. 28, 2025, after which the program will be reviewed. The project team will continually monitor the program noting administrative demand, technical issues, and opportunities for improvement.
To be eligible for the Wireless Internet Rebate Program, you must first complete CIRA Internet Performance Tests on five consecutive days demonstrating that your speeds are consistently below 50 mbps download/10 mbps upload, or submit a declaration that you are unable to establish a wired internet connection at your property. Instructions for completing your required internet performance tests are available on the application webpage.
Please note the rebate is available only for new installations as the program requires participants to demonstrate a poor internet connection through a series of CIRA speed tests which cannot be provided retroactively.
