Parkland County Delivers Low Tax Increase in 2026 Budget
Parkland County, AB – Parkland County Council has approved the 2026 Municipal Budget, delivering on its commitment to fiscal responsibility and affordability for residents. The budget features a residential tax rate increase of just 0.8%, one of the lowest in the Edmonton Metropolitan region, while maintaining high-quality services and investing in priorities identified by Parkland community members.
“We know that every dollar matters to our residents and businesses,” said Mayor Shaigec. “That’s why we worked hard to keep this increase to just 0.8% and the non-residential increase to just 2.75% while still delivering the services and infrastructure our community depends on. This budget reflects what we’ve heard from our community in surveys and on the campaign trail, and we’re focused on maintaining our road network, protecting our agricultural industry, and creating strong economic growth with a focus on industrial and commercial development. We’re proud to deliver a plan that balances fiscal responsibility with community priorities.”
