Impacts of Canada Post Strike on County Services (Oct 2025)

Parkland County wishes to advise residents that postal-related County services, including sending and receiving of any mail correspondence (including bills, payments or notices), may be impacted by the Canada Post strike.

The County is taking all practical steps to minimize disruptions and provide alternative methods of correspondence and service delivery; however, residents may expect some delays or changes to County service until the strike is resolved and normal postal service is resumed.

Click the drop-down headings below for information about specific service impacts and how the County is addressing them.

Residents and companies who typically receive utility invoices by mail are able to view their account balances through our Online Services facility on the county website. This includes utility, property tax and AR balances.

Residents and companies who typically mail in payments for items such as taxes, utilities or permits can drop off payments in-person Monday to Friday at the Parkland County Centre from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or leave payment in our secure drop box located near the entrance.

Payments can also be made through your financial institution in person or through online banking.

We understand that the impacts of the postal strike may disrupt some residents’ and businesses’ ability to receive invoices and submit payments within usual timeframes using the methods currently available.

As such, Parkland County will waive late penalties for utilities payments that were due on September 30, 2025.

Please note: The waiver on late penalties does not currently extend beyond payments that were due on September 30, 2025. However, this advice may be subject to change as the situation evolves.

The County may be unable to deliver landowner notices informing residents about new and approved subdivision applications in their area.

As a temporary alternative, new subdivision applications and approved subdivision applications will be listed online until normal postal service is resumed.

To stay up to date with important County news and updates, all residents are encouraged to regularly visit the County website and follow Parkland County’s social media channels.
