Highway 16A Intersections - Traffic Lights

Please note that the traffic lights on Highway 16A at Spruce Valley Road and at Bevington/Pinchbeck Road will be operational beginning this evening. The lights will be in "flash mode" for three days before regular operation.

These important improvements enhance safety for all road users by allowing for safe and predictable crossing opportunities and turning movements on and off Highway 16A, especially for large trucks that require significant time to make these movements.

These improvements will also encourage new investment opportunities by opening access to approximately 2,600 acres of developable land in Acheson. The lights will prioritize the flow of traffic travelling east and west to minimize traffic disruptions while allowing for safe turning movements on and off this busy highway at the Acheson area.

We understand that there is an impact to the commuting traffic through this corridor. However, the safer driving conditions for the public and the enhanced economic opportunity for the Acheson area is significant and will provide long term prosperity for Parkland County and surrounding area.
