County adopts Advertising Bylaw 2024-21

At the December 10 Council meeting, following a public hearing and second and third readings, Parkland County adopted Advertising Bylaw 2024-21 with immediate effect.

The Bylaw relates to the methods by which the County is required to advertise certain bylaws, resolutions, meetings, public hearings and other things as per section 606 of the Municipal Government Act (the Act).

As is permitted under section 606.1 of the Act, the newly adopted Bylaw includes the use of electronic means of advertising as one of the valid methods of fulfilling the County's advertising requirements under the Act, along with print advertising and direct mail.

The objectives of this Bylaw are to enhance the County's advertising practices, to address the realities of the current local media landscape, and to more effectively serve the changing needs and media consuming habits of our community.
