Bursary Winners Announced - Producer Dinner

On November 14, we gathered at Blueberry Hall to celebrate Parkland County’s agricultural producers. Agriculture supplies food to our tables, drives innovation, fuels our economy and is the backbone of our rural communities. We are so proud of our farming community who have built our county’s vibrant agricultural identity!

We were proud to award five $500 bursaries at the recent Producer Dinner to post-secondary students who are pursuing a career in agriculture:

  • Ayla Kendall-Price, a long-standing 4H club member and Belted Galloway cattle breeder who is pursuing her Agribusiness Diploma at Lakeland College.
  • Charlotte Fairbank, a retired showjumper who is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture at the University of Alberta.
  • Tyler Visser, a long-standing 4H member who is pursuing an Animal Science Degree at Lakeland College.
  • Brody Laackmann, who is taking a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture, and majoring in Animal Science at the University of Alberta where he is a member of the agriculture club, and
  • Travis Wagner, who is pursuing Crop Technology at Lakeland College and is the General Manager of the crop operation on their student-managed farm.

Congratulations to each of our bursary recipients and thank you for your commitment to the succession of our agricultural industry!
