2025 Municipal Election - Important information for interested candidates

The 2025 Municipal Election will take place on October 25, 2025.  And although that might seem a long time away, the County is now accepting Notices of Intent to Run ahead of nominations formally opening on January 1, 2025 and running through to September 22, 2025.

If you are considering becoming a candidate as a member of our Municipal Council, now is your opportunity to have your voice heard and represent the best interests of residents of Parkland County.

Councillors serve a four-year term, and this begins at the first meeting of Council after the election. 

Per the Local Authorities Election Act, candidates intending to run for the 2025 election (for the position of Mayor, Councillor or School Board Trustee) must register their notice of intent with the Election Office before accepting campaign contribution or incurring campaign expenditures. Information about registration and more details about the election are available on our website at parklandcounty.ca/election.
