Join our Fire Services team on Saturday, May 4, at the Entwistle Community Hall for an orientation session on how to manage wildfire with heavy equipment on your land. In this session, Fire Services will outline practical information on incident management, fire weather/behaviour and equipment operation in a wildfire event.
Parkland County is excited to be one of 12 communities across Canada receiving the Wawanesa Community Wildfire Prevention Grants in 2024. These grants will fund a local project to help increase our resilience to wildfires through risk reduction and prevention activities.

Parkland County Firefighter Jordan Burrows and Peace Officer Travis Henrikson, along with RCMP Officer Mark Friesen, have received Decorations for Bravery for their life-saving response during an intense emergency. Rewind to April 6, 2019, where the First Responders rescued a woman from her burning vehicle following a head-on collision.
Students from the grade 3/4 class of the MyPath program, run out of the Connections for Learning school, had the opportunity to explore the Parkland County Animal Shelter, the role of a Peace Officer, and the importance of both in the community. .
Yesterday, our Enforcement Services team, along with Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD), Alberta Sheriffs, Parkland County Fire Services, and Tuber Towing held our first Candy Cane Checkstop in Tomahawk. .
