  • Protecting Parkland

    Parkland County is a vast area with multiple communities spread across its boundaries. There is a unique ecosystem of law enforcement within the County that perform different duties, yet all strive to keep the peace.

  • Wireless Internet Rebate Program

    In response to ongoing demand for wireless internet services, the County is subsidizing equipment and installation fees to remove barriers to quality service access for qualified residents. Effective December 2, 2024, residents may submit an application to receive a rebate of up to $1,000 for the hardware and installation costs for a new wireless internet connection.

  • Parkland County Lake Access Project

    Parkland County is amending its Bylaws and documents on tree clearing on County lands and water body access for semi-waterfront properties. Currently, the County’s Jackfish Lake Area Structure Plan and West Point Estates (North) Outline Plan contain differing policies on the maximum allowable width of a pathway through County Lands for semi-waterfront property owners.

  • Year in Review - Weed and Pest Control program

    In 2024, three areas were selected for focus with our weed inspection and control programs. These areas were adjacent to the previous focus areas selected in 2023.

  • Open House: Proposed Land Use Bylaw Amendments

    We want to hear from you!. Parkland County is currently undertaking an amendment to the Land Use Bylaw 2017-18, and an amendment to the Village of Wabamun Land Use Bylaw 07-2010.

  • Family Farming Feature

    Within the beautiful farmland of Parkland County, Carla Rhyant and her son Rhys operate Rhyant Rock Farms. They raise heritage breeds of sheep, pigs and chickens.

  • A Bone-a-fide Discovery

    What if we told you that an Ice Age fossil was found in a Parkland County sports park? That’s exactly what happened last year when Julian Caners discovered a horse tooth fossil during soccer practice at the Meridian Sports Park.

  • Wabamun Waterfront Park Boat Launch Construction Completed

    Please note that construction has been completed ahead of schedule on the Wabamun Waterfront Park Boat Launch effective October 10, 2024, and the launch has reopened to the public. .

  • 2024 Annual Producer Dinner

    Parkland County's Agricultural Services Board is pleased to host the 2024 Annual Producer Dinner on November 14th at Blueberry Hall. Each year, Parkland County hosts this dinner to honour local producers and the essential contributions they make to our community and the farming industry.

  • Renewable energy feedback encouraged

    On behalf of our Agricultural Services Board, please note the following information being shared from the Government of Alberta regarding renewable energy reclamation security engagement. Input is being requested from the renewable energy industry, including landowners, to assist in the development of a government-led program to collect reclamation security for wind and solar renewable energy projects on private land.
