Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls

May 5 is the official MMIW Day and is the most widely recognized across the US and Canada. Every year, individuals wear red, and attend marches, rallies, bike rides, fundraisers, and more to raise awareness for the MMIW cause and fight against the injustice that's happening to Indigenous women and their families every day.

Parkland County honours and remembers these individuals by displaying red dresses at our facilities. We encourage residents to visit our events page to see how you can participate and show your support for the lives that were lost.
