How do I get started?
The first step is to register your account on the PLANit Parkland portal. For your account email, please choose an active email that you monitor regularly. This is your PLANit Parkland portal login username and the primary email address we will use to send you notifications and letters when you submit applications through the portal.

  1. Navigate to the PLANit Parkland portal and click on the Register link.
  2. Enter one email address and a password.
We recommend that our business customers use one central email address accessible by all staff that will be using the portal. Application letters, notifications, and decisions will only be sent to one email address per portal account.
  3. Add your contact information.
  4. When asked to link your account to a contractor license, select No.
  5. You will receive an email from Parkland County to the email address you provided. Click the link in the email and it will take you to a site to complete your activation.
  6. Enter your email address and password from step two, and then click Activate.
  7. Your account is now active and ready to use.

If you registered but didn’t receive the email:

-          It can take up to 30 minutes to receive your confirmation.

-          Check your junk folder and add the email to your safe senders list.

-          Ensure you input the correct email address.

-          If these suggestions did not help, contact us at hello@parklandcounty.com.

Apply for Contractor Status

Contractor Status is a validated account for general contractors, trades businesses, surveyors, builders, developers, consultants, and other project partners working with our residents.

  • Your new PLANit Parkland portal account will be linked with existing applications your firm may have in our systems
  • Your business name will appear in the “add a business” feature during customer application
  • NOTE: Validation is required for contractors applying for electrical permits and private sewage disposal system installations and upgrades. Confirmation of this validation will be required every calendar year.

Steps to Validate your Account

After registering for a Portal Account:

From the Portal main page, click Apply for a Contractor License.

Login using your Portal account email and password.

Step 1: Enter the name of your business and a brief description of the type of contracting you do (i.e. Electrician, Private Sewage System Installer, Surveyor, Consulting Firm, etc.).

Step 2: Select the Classification from the list (you can select more than one).

Step 3: Add the business owner information (if different from the Portal Account)

Step 4: Contact Information: Add the main contact details for the business. You can click on the “Copy from Business Owner” button to bring that information forward.

Step 5: Additional Contacts: If applicable, add other contacts to the Contractor Application by clicking “Add New Contact” (note that at this time, we only notify one email address per application, the portal user logging in)

The list that is provided is what is generally needed before we can start processing your application.
  • Note: For a fee of $30.00 + GST, Parkland County will get a current Land Title on your behalf. Please indicate this on the Landowner Authorization form.
  • Before submitting the application, review the details. If you need to make changes, use the ‘Previous Step” button.
  • Once the application is submitted, you will receive a project number. The application will now be available in your “My Items” section of the portal.
