Parkland Portal FAQs

Content in Parkland Portal is organized in widgets. Your dashboard will come with all available widgets. You can customize your dashboard to show the widgets you want; in the order you want. 

1. Navigate to Portal.ParklandCounty.com

[INSERT PIC OF SIGN IN SCREEN]

  • Click 'Start Here' to create your Portal Log-in. 
  • Enter your Email address
  • Retrieve the verification code that is sent to your email and enter it
  • Create a secure password and save this in a safe place

Welcome to Parkland Portal! Enter your Municipal Address to create your account.

Go to Portal.ParklandCounty.com

Enter your login credentials

Using email and password:

  • Enter the email and password you used to create your account on the login screen
  • Click ‘Login’

  • Click on your profile icon - this appears in the top right corner of your Parkland page.

  • Click on "Sign out"

  • You will see a "Sign out" link on the pop-up when you click on the profile icon. Click on "Sign out" to log out from your Parkland portal account.

Customize your Parkland Portal experience by adding your address. If you choose to add your address, the portal will display information related to your address, such as the status of submitted building and development permits, garbage collection schedules for applicable areas, snow clearing near you, and upcoming Community events in your area. You can add one or more addresses to your account.

Add an Address

Adding an address to your account is optional. 

1. Click on your profile icon

The profile icon appears on the upper right corner of your Parkland portal.  

2. Click on "Account" or "Add address" 

If you click on the "Account" link on the pop-up, please follow Step 3 below. By clicking on "Add address" you can add a new address instantly. Once you have added the address, save the changes.

3. Under the "Property" tab, click "Add property" or "Add another property" 

Click on the "Property" tab, and then click on "Add another property."

Note: If you already have one property added, the system will display "add another property"

4. Enter the details of the property

"Address name" is simply a nickname to differentiate your multiple properties. For instance, you might call one property "Home" and another one "Rental" or "Business."

Addresses must be within Parkland County limits.

5.Click "Save"

Need to add another address?
The widgets on your dashboard will display information related to the address shown in the upper right corner of your dashboard, including events, snow clearing, and building permits. If you have more than one address on your account, you can switch between addresses to view information about each property.


Note: you can reorder the widgets on the dashboard differently for each property.

1.Click "Switch property" under the address  

The "Switch property" button is displayed under the address on the upper right corner of the Parkland page. 

2. Select the address you want to see the content for 

3.Click "Save" 

1.Click on your profile icon in the upper right hand corner of the Parkland Portal page. 

2.Click on "Add Address"

From here you can edit or delete any addresses you've added. 

 

There are four types of notifications for the Parkland portal:

  1. (Default) App only: your notifications will only appear in the portal

  2. App + email (daily summary): With this setting, you'll receive a notification in the portal AND by email daily with a summary of notifications (updated/new information) from all widgets.

  3. App + email (immediate): receive a notification in the portal AND by email whenever there is an update to any information on a particular widget with this setting

  4. None: you will not receive any notifications when there are changes in this widget

Manage Notifications by Widget

Follow these steps to change your notifications for each widget:

1.Click "View more" in a widget 

At the bottom of all widgets, you will find "+ View more" 

2.The Settings button will be displayed on the top right-hand side of the pop-up, that appears after you click on "+ View more"

3.Choose the notification type from the drop-down menu 

Four options will be displayed in the drop-down menu: None, App Only, App + Email (Immediate) and App + Email (Daily Summary).  

4.Click "Save" 

You can choose to return to the widget or stay in settings to make changes to more widgets (from the list on the left side of the page).

Change notifications for all widgets : 

1. Click on the profile icon (top right corner) 

The profile icon is on the right hand corner of the Parkland portal page 

2. Click "Account" 

Click on "Account" from the pop-up after you click on the profile icon. 

3.Click "Widget settings & notifications" tab 

Individual widgets are listed along the left side of the page. 

4. Click "All notification settings" at the top of the widget list 

"All notification settings" will be displayed on the left hand side panel on Parkland Portal. 

5. Choose your preferred notification type from the drop-down menu 

You can choose from four options: None, App Only, App + Email (Immediate) and App + Email (Daily Summary) 

6.Click "Save" 

You have the ability to edit the widgets that you see on your Parkland screen. 

1. Click on "Edit home screen" (on the upper right side of the screen) 

You can move, add  or delete widgets from your dashboard.

When you're done, click "Save home screen" to save all your changes.

Please note that some widgets are set as fixed widgets by the County. The fixed widgets can be moved to a new location on your dashboard; however, you will not be able to remove these widgets from the home screen.

Move a widget to a new location 

  • Move your mouse over a widget.
  • Click and drag the widget where you want it.
  • Repeat until your widgets are in the order you’d like them.
  • If you are on a mobile device, press and drag the widgets to their new location.

Remove a widget from your dashboard 

  • Move your mouse over a widget you’d like to remove.
  • Click on the X in the upper right corner of the widget.
  • Note: you can’t remove a widget that the County has set as fixed.

Add a widget to your dashboard 

  • Click ‘Add widget’ (upper right side of screen)
  • You’ll see a list of all available widgets not currently on your dashboard. If no widgets are available, it means they are already all on your dashboard.
  • Click ‘+ Add’ beside any widgets you would like to add. They will be added at the bottom of your dashboard.

When you are done, click "Close"

Reset your password 

  1. On the login screen, click "Forgot username or password" 
  2. There will be a link available on the Parkland portal login page. Click on the "Forgot username and password" link to reset your password. 
  3. Enter the email address you used to create your Parkland portal account 
  4. Enter the email address in the pop-up window 
  5. Click "Send" 
  6. Check your email 
  7. Check your email for a password reset link. If you don't see the email, please check your junk or spam folder. 

Change your password 

The following steps will help you to change your password. 

  1. Login to Parkland portal 
  2. Click on the profile icon 
  3. You can click on the profile icon as available on the top right corner of your Parkland page. 
  4. Click "Account" 
  5. Click on the "Account" link displayed on the pop-up 
  6. Select "Your Information" 
  7. Click on the "Your information" tab and click on "Change password"

Reset your password 

  • The system will display with a pop-up asking for your current password and new password.
  • Your password must be 12 characters long and include three of the following elements: lowercase letter, uppercase letter, number and special character.
  1. Click "Change password" 
  2. After entering the above information click on "Change password" button 
  3. Use the new password the next time you log into the Parkland portal
