Community League Grants

Community League Grants provide grant funding to Parkland County Community Leagues in support of the valuable social and recreational contributions that they make to Parkland County residents. These grants are only available to recognized community associations as per policy RP-016. 

Community League Operating Grant

Parkland County annual grant to assist Community Leagues with the operation of community halls and certain outdoor recreational amenities and to assist with the provision of programs and activities to community residents. This grant is available to groups in good standing that are listed as Parkland County Community Associations in policy RP 0016.

 Program and Events Grant

The intent of this funding is to support groups looking to try new programs, improve on existing ones, or host one-time events. Priority of funding will be given to programs and events that focus on children and families and are open to the public.

  • The grant may only be used to offset the costs associated with the program or event.

  • Each group is eligible for funding up to 50% of the expenses. The 50% supplied by the community association may include cash, in kind donations of equipment, supplies and donated labor.

  • The number of annual approved applications depends upon the budget allocated and the number of grant applications.

Minor Sustainability Grant

This grant assists with minor capital costs of the preventative maintenance, or renovation, or code upgrades to their facilities to better enhance programs and service delivery to Parkland County residents.

  • Projects may be covered up to 75% of the cost of the project to a maximum of $10,000 in one year with a 5 year maximum overall award of $30,000 per community association.
  • The 25% supplied by the community association may include cash, in-kind donations of equipment, supplies and donated labor.
  • The allocation of the Community Association Sustainability Minor Capital Grant is based on the assessed priority of the project.

Major Sustainability Grant
This grant assists community associations with major capital costs of the preventative maintenance, or renovation, or code upgrades to their facilities to better enhance programs and service delivery to Parkland County residents.  Major capital projects may be covered up to 50% of the cost of the project with a 10 year maximum of $150,000 per Community Association.

Community Weekend League Grant

The intent of this funding is to support groups with volunteer recruitment, community connections membership drives, and with the promotion of their Community League. Events must happen the weekend of September 20-22, 2024. 

 


Community Association Volunteer of the Year

In celebration of National Volunteer Week, Parkland County honors its many community association volunteers at a special banquet. The banquet usually takes place in April. Every community association is asked to nominate an outstanding volunteer to receive the Volunteer of the Year award.
