Who is the Agricultural Service Board?

The ASB is a committee of public and council members who are committed to engaging with the agricultural community and their issues. The ASB works to assist in the control of animal diseases under the Animal Health Act. Members promote, enhance, and protect viable and sustainable agriculture with a view of improving the economic viability of the agricultural producer. They also promote and develop agriculture policies to meet the needs of Parkland County. The ASB advises Council and the ministers in matters of mutual concern. Also, members advise on and help organize and direct weed and pest control and soil and water conservation programs and act as an appeal panel. The ASB ensures agriculture is considered in County operations and Council priorities and celebrates Parkland County's agricultural industry and heritage.
