Coal Diamond Sports Park

Alcohol and Cannabis

Alcohol consumption is not permitted at Coal Diamond Sports Park without the appropriate permissions from AGLC and the County.

Businesses, organizations and individuals who want to sell or supply alcohol in Alberta must have a liquor license and approval from the Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission.

Cannabis consumption in any public place – whether smoked, vaped, or otherwise - is not permitted

Booking Priority

Ball diamonds and soccer fields shall be distributed in the following priority:

• County-based teams (51% County membership)
• Teams from incorporated municipalities within the County
• All other teams

Youth teams receive priority over adult teams (17+).

Camping

Overnight camping is permitted in the designated camping area only. Approval must be obtained from the County. The camping area is non-serviced, has three fire pits, and holds approximately 15-20 holiday trailers. Firewood is not supplied.

Cancellation Policy

• No refund will be given in the event of a cancellation of games for non-weather-related reasons.
• Full games cancelled due to a rainout or other inclement weather may be rescheduled or refunded at the discretion of the County. No refund will normally be given for rainout of games which are already in progress.
• Cancellation by the Renter shall be made, in writing, before the start of the booking.
• The County reserves the right to cancel any booking to any Renter that does not comply with the terms and conditions.

Insurance

• All bookings at Coal Diamond Sports Park are required to provide a Certificate of Insurance (minimum $2 million liability), naming Parkland County as an “additional insured” for the duration of the booking.
• Proof of insurance to be received at least 14 days before the first day of the booking.
• The Renter is fully responsible and liable for any damage to the facility during the period when occupied by the Renter.
• The County is not responsible for any personal items or personal equipment that is damaged, missing, lost or stolen.

Parking

Parking for approximately 50-80 vehicles. All vehicles must park in designated areas and cannot park on roads, green spaces, or soccer fields. The perimeter of the parking lot and access roads must remain open for emergency vehicles.

Vehicles parked outside designated areas may be ticketed or towed at the owner’s expense.

Pets

Pets (except service dogs) are not permitted at Coal Diamond Sports Park.

Washrooms

Indoor washrooms (wheelchair accessible) and portable toilets.

Water

Campground is a group site and will be rented to one group at a time with one person designated as responsible for the applicable fee(s) and site activities. Washrooms will be included with the campground as one rental package. 

The security fee will be processed as a damage deposit upon the day rental begins and used to offset any costs for cleanup, damages, destructions, or loss of municipal property caused during the event and the responsibility of the party renting the facilities.
