Bus Service to Acheson - Acheson Transit Service

Acheson’s transit is a partnership between Parkland County, the City of Spruce Grove, and the City of Edmonton offering services that connect Acheson to main transit routes in Edmonton and Spruce Grove. Once in Acheson get around by an included shuttle service. 

Tri-Municipal Regional Transit Plan

The Tri- Region; Spruce Grove, Stony Plain and Parkland County, collaborated to make a combined vision for transit servicing within the region. This is expressed in the Tri-Municipal Regional Transit Plan.    

Bus Service within Acheson - Acheson Shuttle Information

Parkland County provides a shuttle service, Route 561 for bus stops and the businesses in Acheson zones 1-5. This service runs Monday to Friday (excluding statutory holidays). It's as easy as boarding the shuttle bus and letting the driver know which locations you are traveling to.

In the afternoon you must book your shuttle trip by:

  • Calling Southland Transportation at 780-974-9524

Be sure to identify the bus route and your departure time. 

Acheson Shuttle Fare

The Shuttle transfer is included in the Spruce Grove transit fare.

Cancellation

Please cancel your booking if the ride is not required before 3 p.m. on the day of travel.

Route 561 Schedule

The 561 bus stop is on the west side of the Husky Travel Centre parking lot, just off 266 St. Use Hwy. 60 and 114 Ave. to get there.

Cash - $6.25 

10 ticket book - $56

Monthly pass (Spruce Grove) - $135

Monthly pass (Edmonton) - $97

Monthly youth/student pass - $100

Monthly integrated pass** - $197

U-Pass holders - Temporarily Suspended 

Children under five - Free

CNIB pass holders - Free

 

 * Under 18 or with a valid student ID 

** The integrated pass is for Spruce Grove residents only. Proof of residency is required when purchasing this pass. 

Sale Locations

Buy your transit passes before the 8th day of each month. (i.e., May transit passes bought by May 8th). The transit fares for the Acheson riders are the same as the Spruce Grove commuters.

Stony Plain Town Hall - 4905 51 Ave.

  • Monday to Friday: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Spruce Grove City Hall - 315 Jespersen Ave.

  • Monday to Friday: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Border Paving Athletic Centre - 9 Tri Leisure Way(Debit and Credit only)

  • Monday to Friday: 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.; Saturday: 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Sunday: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Shoppers Drug Mart 

  • Westland Market Mall, 70 McLeod Ave., Hwy. 16A, 9 a.m. to 11 p.m.
  • Stony Plain, 4300 S Park Dr Unit 400, Monday to Saturday: 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Sunday: 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Passes only

Shoppers Drug Mart (Commuter, Integrated and Student/Youth Passes)

  • Century Crossing, #100-131 Century Crossing Rd., 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Statutory holidays

The buses will not operate on the following days:

  • Monday, February 21, 2022-Family Day
  • Friday, April 15, 2022-Good Friday
  • Monday, May 23, 2022-Victoria Day
  • Friday, July 1, 2022-Canada Day 
  • Monday, August 1, 2022-Civic Holiday
  • Monday, September 5, 2022-Labour Day
  • Monday, October 10, 2022-Thanksgiving 
  • Friday, November 11, 2022-Remembrance Day
  • Monday, December 26, 2022-Boxing Day

 

Riders' fares, general taxation, and a public transit utility charge cover the costs. All industrial lots in the service area pay a portion of the transit utility charge based on Council approved Utility Bylaw.
