Public Works maintains over 1250 kilometers of gravel roads and 900 kilometers of surfaced roads in Parkland County including:

Engineering Services
Engineering Services develops and upgrades county roads using different construction methods. The 2023 - 2026 Capital Infrastructure Program outlines the current and upcoming projects for constructing and upgrading county roads.
Projects are based on:
- Road conditions
- Traffic volumes
- Road classification and land use
- Safety
- Feasibility and costs
- Environmental and social concerns
- Public Support and project coordination
Annual road construction takes place between April and October, but the schedule is subject to change due to weather conditions and construction delays.

Subdivision paving
Residents can request road paving in their subdivision. This is done as a Local Improvement based on Road Surfacing -Country Residential Policy C-EN01. Please read the frequently asked questions for more information on the process.
