Parkland County is well known for its beautiful parks, trails and natural areas. There is something for everyone to enjoy!

Friendly reminder: Please do not walk on the set tracks.
All parks within the County are closed to the public between the hours of II:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.

Chickakoo Lake Recreation Area |
1228 TWP RD 534 If you are a nature lover, this is the place for you! With over 480 acres of woodland and lakes, Chickakoo is home to wildlife such as moose, deer, beavers, birds and so much more. Enjoy 11 km of trails used for walking, mountain biking, horseback riding and cross country skiing. Trails are regularly groomed and tracks set regularly for cross country skiing in the winter months. There are washrooms, picnic areas, fire pits with firewood supplied, a gazebo, a playground, and hand launch for non-motorized boats. No swimming allowed. Dogs are welcome on leash. Constable Chelsey Robinson Park |

Update: April 18, 2023The gate to the lower parking lot at Constable Chelsey Robinson Park has been opened for the season. Constable Chelsey Robinson Park is Parkland County's newest park on the banks of the North Saskatchewan River. Enjoy the beautiful view of the river as you fish, enjoy a picnic or go for a walk along the riverbank. There are 16 picnic sites, fire pits with firewood provided free of charge, and washrooms. Dogs are welcome on leash. |
Devonian Trail |

Funded in partnership with the River Valley Alliance, this trail is part of Amisko Wacîw Mêskanaw (Beaver Hill Road) trail connecting the North Saskatchewan River Valley from Devon to Fort Saskatechewan. The 7km trail spans from Prospectors' Point to the University of Alberta Botanic Gardens. Dogs are welcome on leash. Washrooms are located at Prospectors' Point and Bunchberry Meadows. No dogs allowed at Bunchberry Meadows Conservation Area. |
Hasse Lake Recreation Area |

This beautiful 300-acre day use park is a great place to enjoy a family picnic, go bird watching or take a stroll on the 3 km loop trail. There are fire pits with firewood supplied, washrooms, a playground, a hand launch and dock at the lake for boats (speed limit 12 km/hr) and fish cleaning tables. No swimming allowed. Dogs are welcome on leash. The park is open for winter use and ice fishing. |
Jackfish Lake Boat Launch and Recreation Area |

This delightful park is the perfect place to spend the day on the water, the beach and enjoy the sun. It features a boat launch for motorized boats, beach area for swimming, fishing and a picnic area. The park is open in the winter months for ice fishing. A $20 parking fee applies from May 15 to September 15 during the following hours:
Please note: Effective May 15, 2019, Parkland County will no longer accept cash as payment at Jackfish Lake Recreation Area. Debit card, Visa and MasterCard will be accepted. Parking is limited; 23 stalls are available on a first come, first served basis. |
Prospectors' Point Day Use Area |

Rumor has it there is gold in that river! Located on the banks of the North Saskatchewan River, just outside the Town of Devon, Prospectors' Point Day Use area is a great place to go fishing or pan for gold. There are picnic tables and washrooms onsite; however, fires are not permitted. Dogs are welcome on leash. Prospectors' Point is the trailhead for the Devonian Trail; a 7km trail that connects to the University of Alberta Botanic Gardens. |
OPENING SUMMER 2023 Sundance Boat Launch and Recreation Area |

Parkland County's newest park will open summer of 2023. The park will feature a boat launch for motorized boats, fishing, walking path up the fingers of the channel and a picnic area. The park is open in the winter months for ice fishing. A $20 parking fee applies from May 15 to September 15 during the following hours:

Enjoy kilometers of trails used for walking, mountain biking, horseback riding and cross country skiing. Wabamun Spray Park and Day Use Area |
Update: May 17, 2023The washrooms at the Wabamun Spray Park and Day Use Area are open for the season. The Wabamun Spray Park is opening May 19th, 2023.
This delightful Spray Park and Day Use Area is the perfect way to spend your afternoon. The Spray Park is hand activated and open the following hours:

Parkland County has a number of small day use parks that provide access to a variety of lakes including Wabamun Lake, Lake Isle and Muir Lake.

Natural Areas
Parkland County has independently operated natural areas that are great for nature walks and bird watching.
Provincial Parks
There are three beautiful provincial parks located within the boundaries of Parkland County:
- Pembina River Provincial Park is near the towering Pembina River gorge with cliffs as high as 62 metres! There is a campground and day use area. The park is a wonderful place to picnic, swim and spend the day.
- Wabamun Lake Provincial Park offers lake access and clean beaches. There is a campground, picnic area, playground and so much more.
- Lois Hole Centennial Provincial Park has over 1421 hectares of lake and natural areas. This park is wonderful for bird watching and nature walks.
