Mobile Food Vending Unit Information
A mobile food vending unit is considered any vehicle not permanently affixed to land used to sell food and food-related products.
All mobile food vendors operating within Parkland County are required to meet certain requirements.
Business License
Parkland County is business friendly. To improve efficiency, businesses do not require a business license / Approval to Operate
from the County.
Food Permits
A valid food handling permit(s) from Alberta Health Services is required.

o If you have questions regarding the types of food handling permits that may be required, you can contact Environmental Public Health directly.
Safety Code Permits
A fire inspection and/or related safety codes inspection approval completed through another Alberta municipality will be accepted.
If Parkland County will be your sole place of operation, you will be required to apply for a gas permit through Parkland County.
You can do so online via the PLANit Parkland portal.
Location
Due to popular demand, Parkland County is pleased to provide a pre-approved location where mobile food vending units can operate at Wabamun Waterfront Park (5119 50 St, Wabamun).
Space at this location is available on a first come first serve basis. Mobile food vending units are permitted to operate here from 6:00 A.M. - 11:00 P.M.. Mobile food vending units are not permitted to stay onsite overnight.
Want to operate a mobile food vending unit outside of the above area? Requests for operation at other Parkland County parks are evaluated on a case-by-case basis. You will be required to obtain appropriate written approvals from Parkland County to operate at the location. This includes locations on municipal land, parks, private property and County roadways.
