Development Agreements
A development agreement may be included as a condition of subdivision or a development permit. A development agreement is a legal document authorised under the Municipal Government Act that forms a binding contract between the Council of Parkland County and a developer. They are typically required for applications that will include infrastructure projects, both on-site and off-site and may include (but are not limited to) the terms surrounding the construction of roads, sanitary and potable water piped servicing and stormwater management. A development agreement may also formalize the requirements for off-site levy payments as well as any recoveries owing to other developers. All levies, fees, securities and recoveries are payable at the time of execution of the development agreement.
