On May 11, 2021 Council accepted the Transportation Master Plan (TMP) as information. The TMP is intended to be a strategic planning document and as such, it is not intended to address site-specific or corridor-specific issues. Rather, it provides a comprehensive set of recommended strategic directions and actions to guide future transportation and land use decision-making. The TMP is also intended to be a dynamic document that is responsive to major development or growth changes as well as other municipal and regional planning initiatives.
The TMP is non-statutory therefore statutory documents identified within the Municipal Government Act take precedence over the TMP. Most notably the Transportation System Bylaw 2015-31 and corresponding Schedule A Map continue to take precedence over the TMP. Engineering Services will undertake updating the Transportation System Bylaw to align with the new TMP in the future.
