- installation, renewal, removal or change of a plumbing system/ equipment
- installation of a cross connection control device (backflow prevention)
- connection of any mobile/modular home to a municipal or private sewage system

Fees
Fees vary depending on the number of fixtures. Note: If the Safety Codes Officer is unable to perform your inspection due to deficiencies, access issues, incomplete work or the inability to locate the site, additional fees may apply.
Who can apply?
- plumbing contractors that have journeyman certification
- homeowners, if they own and live in, or intend to live in, the home and are completing the work themselves or with qualified help
Note: If a contractor is doing the work, you (as the homeowner/business owner) should ask the contractor to pull the permit rather than you pulling the permit on the contractor's behalf.
Inspections
Inspection bookings have changed. Did you know we have a new online permitting system called PLANit Parkland? Please register for an account by clicking the link. Click Here Once you have an account set up, please email inspections@parklandcounty.com or call 780-968-8472 so we can link your account to all of your existing permits. You will then be able to request your inspections with the click of a button.
If you have difficulties setting up your account, please email inspections@parklandcounty.com or call 780-968-8472 to book your inspection. In your email or message, please include your permit number, address, and preferred date of inspection. We will book the inspection and help you get set up in the PLANit Parkland Portal. Requests received before noon will be confirmed by the end of the business day.

Note: If the Safety Codes Officer is unable to perform your inspection due to deficiencies, access issues, incomplete work or the inability to locate the site, a re-inspection fee will apply.
Permit guidelines
- If the contractor is applying for the permit, the owner should ask for a copy of the permit to confirm that all work adheres to the Safety Codes Act
- The permit generally expires after one year without an extension request
- Work must begin within 90 days from the issue date
- Work must not be suspended or abandoned for a period of more than 120 days
- All commercial, industrial and institutional plumbing permits must be pulled by a certified contractor
Note: It is an offence under the Provincial Safety Codes Act to start any work without a valid permit. Permit fees will be doubled if work is started without a permit.
