Parkland County is committed to making the community a safer place to live, work and play. Our safety codes officers provide a variety of inspections, alongside other levels of government and agencies, to ensure that safety, integrity and maintenance standards are met.

Inspections may be needed at various stages of your project. View When to Book Residential Inspections for a general overview of when inspections are required.

Book an inspection

Use our online portal PLANit Parkland to book an inspection for your building, electrical, gas, plumbing or private sewage permit.

If a safety codes officer is unable to perform the inspection due to access issues, incomplete work, unsafe conditions or inability to locate the site, a re-inspection fee will apply.

How to link permit issued prior to the PLANit portal

Once you have an account set up with PLANit Parkland, please contact us by email at inspections@parklandcounty.com or by phone at 780-968-8472 so that we can assist you link your account to all of your existing permits. After these are linked, you can book inspections online through PLANit Parkland.

How to schedule inspection in PLANit portal

1)      Sign in to PLANit Parkland.

2)      Select “My Items” from the menu.

3)      Select “Safety Codes Permits’ to expand it.

4)      Look for permits that have an “Issued” status.

5)      Select “Request Inspection” next to the issued permits.

6)      Select the inspections you wish to book.

7)      Ensure you add a site contact, phone number and any other important details (gate code, dog on site, etc.) in the “Notes” section.

8)      Select a day for your inspection for any building and trades permits.

Once your booking is confirmed and scheduled, you will receive a confirmation email from Parkland County staff.
