Meet your Council
Message from the Mayor
I am truly humbled and inspired to be elected as your Mayor of Parkland County. I am excited to begin this journey, working alongside Council and Administration, to bring my relentless work ethic and positive leadership to Parkland County for the future prosperity of all residents.
As a lifetime resident of Parkland County, residing on the Gamble farm with my wife, Dana, and having raised our family here, I am passionate about the success of agriculture in the County. It is essential to protect our prime agricultural land and advance the industry which is a way of life for so many local families.
There are many rewards and opportunities that come with living a modern lifestyle in a rural setting. We all enjoy the stunning natural landscape, and together we will protect our environmentally significant areas for our families and all future generations. The internet and broadband service is a
necessary utility and will be a top priority for keeping residents and businesses connected as more people study and work from home. Sustainable growth and innovation in our commercial sectors will allow for more employment opportunities, controlled residential taxes, and increased work/life balance for residents.
The vision of the county is One Parkland: Powerfully Connected and I intend to develop strength in Parkland County by building “team first” relationships with our Tri-Municipal partners, our greater Edmonton area partners, and our Indigenous communities. I am a proud member of the Metis Nation of Alberta and cultivating partnerships with our First Nations friends is a priority. We will engage in Truth and Reconciliation to bring recognition and awareness to the reconciliation process.
The next four years will present many opportunities. On behalf of myself and Council, we will bring our best effort every day.
