Social Media Engagement Guidelines
Parkland County uses Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube as social media platforms. The purpose of our social media is to share information with residents and visitors.
Comments are welcomed, however, our social media posts are not intended to be public forums or official records. Residents with concerns requiring follow up are encouraged to call our Customer Service team at 780-968-8888 or email hello@parklandcounty.com and the County will document the information and work to address issues. Those wishing to formally share information or concerns with Council are invited to participate in a Council Meeting Public Input session.
Comments on Parkland County social media posts are monitored, and the County reserves the right to limit or disable comments on any posts. Parkland County also reserves the right to remove all spam, advertising or comments which are inaccurate, off-topic, misleading, threatening, offensive, hateful and/or defamatory or otherwise objectionable including:

Material that would offend current standards of taste and decency.

Abusive, bullying, harassing, profane or sexual language or imagery.

Discriminatory material aligned to age, gender, cultural background, disability, family status, marital status, nationality, parental status, political opinion/affiliation, pregnancy or potential pregnancy, religious beliefs/activity, responsibilities, or sexual orientation.

Commercial solicitations or transactions.

The promotion of consumption of alcohol or participation in gambling.

Content which is false or misleading.

Content that invades personal privacy.

Copyright or ownership protected materials.

Illegal materials or materials designed to encourage law breaking.

Materials which would breach applicable laws (defamation, privacy, trade practices, financial rules and regulations, fair use, trademarks).

Spam (i.e., the distribution of unsolicited bulk electronic messages).

Information that could compromise public safety or security, or operations.

Messages that impersonate or misrepresent someone else, including public figures or County officials.

Comments not topically related to the original post.
Any user generated content (such as comments, replies or posts) that does not adhere to the above guidelines may be removed without notice. To ensure a safe and healthy online environment, determining which content is objectionable is at the sole discretion of Parkland County.We reserve the right to block users who repeatedly violate the terms of engagement.
We reserve the right to modify the terms of engagement at any time.
