Caring for the County: Engineering

2024 Achievements
- Our work is on time and on budget - $35 million was allocated for 37 capital construction projects in 2024.
- Current and upcoming projects for constructing and upgrading county roads, bridges, water systems, wastewater systems and stormwater infrastructure can be found on the the Current Capital Infrastructure Program page.
-
We’re improving two key intersections on Highway 16A to increase access to the Acheson Industrial Area and opening over 2,600 acres of developable land as a result. At both intersection locations work was done to improve channelization, add turn bays and tapers, add signal lights and streetlighting, and connect north/south roadways into the intersections. The Pinchbeck/Bevington Road Intersection also includes a new water and wastewater line crossing.
While we realize that there is an impact to the commuting traffic through this corridor, the economic opportunity for the Acheson area and safer driving conditions for the public is significant and will provide long term economic prosperity for Parkland County and surrounding area.
- Wabamun Initiatives - Wastewater System Improvements including the replacement and upgrade of aged infrastructure, lift station renewal, force main replacement/upgrade lagoon restoration, etc.
- Capital Infrastructure Projects were given dedicated project pages on YourParkland and are updated regularly so residents can follow along on the progress.
