• The Enforcement team embarked on a comprehensive bylaw update which made bylaws easier to interpret for residents.

  • Our Wabamun Satellite office launched a 'Chat with a Peace Officer' program that allows residents the opportunity to discuss concerns with our Enforcement team on a weekly drop-in basis.

  • Our school resource officer and Peace Officers have been busy connecting with students in the Parkland School Division on various safety topics including Animal, Bicycle, Online, and Pedestrian safety. These interactions allow students to recognize that our Enforcement team are members of their community and are there to help.
  • Our Animal Shelter team has been collaborating with the Edmonton Humane Society (EHS) to help alleviate the problem of increasing feral cat colonies within Parkland County.

In the absence of a cat bylaw, there was a need to help stabilize feral cat populations in our community. With our support, the EHS Trap Neuter Return (TNR) team spent the last month or so targeting 4 feral cat territories in Parkland County and were able to spay and neuter 107 cats and kittens. This initiative helps curb the influx of unwanted cats and prevents the spread of feline diseases in our communities. After such success, we plan to continue our partnership with EHS and explore more TNR opportunities to better support our residents and their furry friends.
