Caring for the County: Community Services

2024 Achievements
- Parkland County is a leader in program funding - over $315,000 was awarded to 26 Community Leagues to help provide recreation and social programs that meet the unique needs and interests of the county's residents.
- Parkland County’s 2024 Not-for-Profit grant provided $93k to 15 not-for-profit groups to assist in providing recreation and social programs to Parkland County residents.
- We had approximately 1,000 people participate in Love Where You Live block party events across the County.
- Our Community Services team co-hosted the inaugural Don’t Just Survive, Thrive conference with the Town of Stony Plain and the City of Spruce Grove. The conference provided non-profit organizations with a platform to share resources and successes, enhance collaboration and discuss challenges.

Key Responsibilities
- Maintenance, operation and future planning for parks, trails, sports fields, and cemeteries
- Facilitates agreements for regional access to recreational facilities
- Provides access to services and programs through FCSS programs and agreements
- Supports Community Leagues and Not-for-Profits through facilitation, grants and training opportunities
- Application of cultural lens to decision making
- Maintains public art collection
