Access to Information Act (ATIA)
The Access to Information Act (ATIA) and Protection of Privacy Act (POPA) came into force June 11, 2025. Upon proclamation, the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIP) was repealed.
The Access to Information Act allows you a right of access to:
- non-personal records held by Parkland County
- personal records about yourself
Disclosure of all information in the County's possession are subject to these Acts.
To request general information about county business or personal information about you, submit in writing or access to information request form.
Parkland County has 30 business days to respond to initial ATI requests. The Act and/or the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner (OIPC) may permit additional time if required (to contact third parties or if there is a large volume of documents requested).

- include file numbers and dates where possible
